How do I add Kiki to my Discord server?

Click the "Add Kiki to Your Server" button on our website, authorize the bot with your Discord account, and select the server where you want to add Kiki. You need administrator permissions on that server to complete the process. Setup takes about a minute: once Kiki joins, run /set_2_langs in any channel, pick two languages, and translation starts immediately on the free tier.

Is Kiki free to use?

Yes! Kiki has a powerful free tier with essential translation and control commands. Premium plans unlock advanced features like AI server management, automated onboarding, and unlimited translation. Visit our pricing page for detailed information.

What can the AI server management do?

You can ask Kiki to perform tasks in plain language, such as "Kiki, create a new channel called #event-planning", "set this channel to translate from English to Japanese", or "make the #staff channel private." She can create channels and categories, configure 1-4 language translation, link mirror channels, and switch existing channels between private and public. Follow up by simply replying to her answer. If her answer was translated or mirrored into another channel, replying to that copy continues the same conversation. Moderation and more automations are coming soon!

How does the onboarding feature work?

Admins can design a series of questions (multiple choice, yes/no, or free-form) for new users. Based on their answers, Kiki can automatically assign roles or even set their nickname. All questions are translated to the user's chosen language.

How accurate are the translations?

Kiki uses advanced neural machine translation technology to provide high-quality translations across 106 languages. Repeated phrases are served instantly from a shared translation cache, so common text translates faster and identically across every server using Kiki. While no automated translation is perfect, Kiki delivers reliable results for effective communication.

What permissions does Kiki need?

Kiki needs four core Discord permissions to translate: Read Messages, Send Messages, Manage Webhooks (so translations appear under the original author's name and avatar), and Add Reactions (for flag-emoji and voice-note reactions). Voice features also use Connect and Speak in voice channels. The install link requests administrator permissions because that covers every feature, including channel creation through AI chat, but you can trim permissions afterwards if your server policy requires it.

How can I get free image generations?

Two ways. (1) Visit the home, pricing, or Manage Subscription page and click the "Vote on top.gg" button. (2) In Discord, run /daily_free_images. Either path opens the top.gg vote page, and voting grants you 5 image generations valid for 24 hours. Strict cap of one active vote pack at a time. You must have logged in at least once on the website with the same Discord account so we can match top.gg's vote callback to you. Without that, the vote is silently ignored.

Can Kiki generate or edit images?

Yes. Use /generate_image <prompt> in any server where Kiki is installed, or in DMs once Kiki is added to your apps. Attach up to 5 reference images on the command itself to edit or anchor a style. On a Feline Finest server (9 pooled tokens) you can also chat naturally with Kiki to generate images, or reply to a message containing an image and ask her to edit it in plain language. Image tokens come from subscription bonuses, one-time pack purchases, or vote bonuses. View your balance with /image_token_status.

How much does each image cost and where do image tokens come from?

Each generated or edited image costs 1 image token, debited up front and automatically refunded if delivery fails. Image tokens come from three sources. The monthly subscription bonus gives 10 images at 3-5 personal tokens, 20 at 6-8, and 25 at 9+, renewed at every billing. One-time packs cost $5 for 100 images, $10 for 225, or $20 for 500, stay valid for 1 year, and are spent only after the monthly bonus runs out. Vote bonuses add 5 free images per top.gg vote, valid for 24 hours, with one active vote pack at a time. Run /image_token_status anytime to see your current balance, active packs, and expiry dates.

Use any country flag emoji as a reaction to translate one message into that country's official language.

Does Kiki work with voice notes and voice channels?

Yes. Voice notes (audio messages) are automatically transcribed and translated in your existing translation channels, and a 🔊 button on each translation plays it back as audio. The free Purrfect Pals tier covers two-language voice notes, and paid tiers cover one-, three-, and four-language channels plus mirror voice-forwarding. React 📝 on any voice note to see the transcript, or react with a country flag to translate it on the spot. The older 📢 reaction in a voice channel (Feline Finest / Premium) is still available for reading text messages aloud over voice.

How do I translate a single voice note without setting up a translation channel?

React to the voice note with a country-flag emoji (e.g. 🇫🇷 for French, 🇯🇵 for Japanese, 🇮🇳 for Hindi). Kiki transcribes the audio, translates it into that country's main language, and posts the result with a 🔊 button so the listener can hear it spoken. Works on every server tier and every voice note in any channel.

Can Kiki translate the text inside an image, like a meme or a screenshot?

Yes, automatically. Post an image containing text in any translation-enabled channel and Kiki reads the text and replies with a translation laid out to match the picture. In mirrored channels the original image is forwarded into every linked channel with the translation beneath it, and you can flag-react any image to translate its text on demand. Works on every tier following the channel's normal translation rules. Admins can switch the automatic behaviour off or on by scope with /mute_image_translations and /unmute_image_translations (In-line, Inter-channel/Inter-server, or All). Flag-reaction image translation keeps working regardless.

Does Kiki translate messages from other bots, like embeds and announcements?

Yes. Rich embeds posted by bots and webhooks are translated in full: title, description, fields, footer, and author line. The embed's structure, colors, images, and links stay intact. Messages with both text and an embed get both translated, automatically, wherever translation is enabled. If a specific bot creates noise or loops, an admin can exclude it with /block_translation.
